Professional Background Screen Association

Founded in 2003, the PBSA (Professional Background Screen Association) looks out for companies that perform screenings. The agency sets guidelines and ethics performance levels for the industry. The PBSA currently has more than 800 members. That portfolio encompasses everything from local businesses to Fortune 100s.

Fair Credit Reporting Act

The Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) protects collected information used in screenings. That’s medical information, credit checks, and other investigations. These consumer reports are not shared with anyone unless their reason is identified in the FCRA. However, individuals have a right to know what’s in their file and must be told if anything in the file is being used against them.
